The simple motion against Minister of Defense Anatolie Salaru, submitted by the Socialist MP, was short of votes and could not be passed. Only 24 MPs voted for the minister’s dismissal, IPN reports.
Anatolie Salaru said he promotes the security policy of the state. “I suspect that the authors of the motion are bothered by the fact that the Republic of Moldova was invited to the NATO Summit. My goal is to strengthen the military capacities of the state. There is a group of people who place barriers to evolution and want to maintain the state in a gray area that is dangerous for the country’s future,” he stated.
Accused that some of the military systems were sold overnight, the minister said that equipment was actually only transferred and this was done at night, as in all the countries of the world with armies, so as to protect it and not to cause panic among the citizens.
The Socialist MP said the goal of the Liberals, who have managed the Ministry of Defense for several years, is to destroy the national army. The Liberal minister Anatolie Salaru does inexplicable actions and discharges real professionals so that these do not hamper him in his ‘dirty businesses’. The Socialist also asked that the minister should be prosecuted.
