The branchy structure of the Chisinau City Hall should be simplified because there are persons serving at municipal divisions who do not fulfill their duties and the posts are doubled. There are separate entities with accountants and jurists that work without a roadmap, acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality Silvia Radu stated in the program “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.
According to her, those who do not do their job will have to leave so as to allow professionals who really want to work and to change things at the City Hall to come. The functionary said that during her short term in office she aims to launch a mechanism that would not allow the mayors to abuse the people’s confidence and the municipal budget.
“Corruption in Chisinau municipality is like in scientific-fantastic films and the citizens of Chisinau see only the top of the corruption iceberg. I still cannot believe that the level of corruption can rise so much and so dramatically in a European municipality where the people deserve to be at least respected and the legislation deserves to be respected,” stated Silvia Radu.
According to her, given the current situation in the municipality, the people need a mayor who will come from outside politics as they played political games behind the curtains in Chisinau enough and the people should no longer suffer because of the poor management of those who came and administered the City Hall without having the necessary knowledge and experience and without at least making effort to deal with the problems of the city’s residents.
The acting mayor said the Dorin Chirtoaca should not be treated as a martyr for the reason that he resigned. He should have resigned long ago as he lost the citizens’ confidence. “The people suffered too much and a very great effort needs now to be made, both financially and in terms of management, to put things right,” stated Silvia Radu.
She noted she hasn’t yet decided whether to run in the early mayoral elections in Chisinau or not, but if she decides to run, she will be no one’s representative and will join no political organization before running.
