Acting mayor of Chisinau Silvia Radu said the fir tree hasn’t been yet taken to Chisinau because so-called public figures hamper its transportation, but this will most probably reach the capital city this evening. The statement was made before the December 1 meeting of the Chisinau Municipal Council, IPN reports.
Silvia Radu didn’t give names and didn’t specify how the municipality will avoid the other obstacles mentioned by her.
The fir tree was bought for over 15,000 lei in the Ukrainian region Ivano-Frankivsk and is about 29 meters in height. Under an order signed by acting mayor general of Chisinau Silvia Radu, the competent municipal services were to decorate the tree by November 30 so that it could be inaugurated on December 1, expectably at 5:30pm.
