Under an order signed by acting mayor general of Chisinau Silvia Radu on November 27, the Christmas tree in the Great National Assembly Square will be inaugurated on December 1, at 5:30pm. In the November 27 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, it was stated that the winter holidays could be inaugurated with delay.

Under the same order, the responsible municipal enterprises must adorn the Christmas tree by November 30.

In the evening of December 1, at 8pm, the holiday lighting will be tuned on. On the occasion of the inauguration of the Christmas tree, there will be staged a holiday performance of music and dancing that will feature children’s and youth bands.

This year the tree is brought from Ukraine. It cost the municipality 15,000 lei.
