Independent candidate for President Silvia Radu said she voted for the country, for the Republic of Moldova. She voiced hope that after these elections the Republic of Moldova will be headed by an upright person with a clear view on the country’ future, who will be able to make Moldova be the pride of all the people. The statements were made inside the polling place where the candidate cast her ballot, IPN reports.

Silvia Radu said that if the future President is indeed elected by the people, this will manage to effect changes. She noted she got the jitters as it is a crucial moment for the state now that the people choose the President themselves (for the first time since the constitutional reform of 2000, e.n.).  

The candidate also said it is important to have a President of the people, not of a party or a group of interests. “No matter who is elected President, I wish this person success,” stated Silvia Rasu.
