The Chisinau City Hall will borrow the public practices of Bucharest as regards efficiency in the process of managing municipal enterprises and implementation of education, cultural and health projects. The subject was discussed by acting mayor general of Chisinau municipality Silvia Radu in a meeting with mayor of Bucharest municipality Gabriela Firea, who paid an official visit to Chisinau, IPN reports.
“We took a step forward in the relations between the two municipalities by signing the protocol of Bucharest that refers to such areas as culture, education and healthcare,” stated Silvia Radu.
Gabriela Firea said that together with her counterpart from Chisinau, they will continue to cooperate in managing public services so that the public money is spent wisely and intelligently, for the people’s benefit. They also discussed the development of a smart city, cooperation in urban or transport regeneration and infrastructure. “We want to overcome the stage of the Flower Bridge and do something concrete for the people,” stated Gabriela Firea.
Asked what she thinks about the way in which Silviei Radu was named acting mayor, Gabriela Firea said she came to Chisinau to promote public policies, not politics. She noted that the ladies in public posts are more disciplined and responsible. The two mayors also discussed the implementation of the cooperation program signed during the visit paid by Silvia Radu to Bucharest during February 13-15.
While in Chisinau, Gabriela Firea visited the public library “Onisifor Ghibu”. Based on the cooperation agreement signed by the city halls of the two capitals this February, the library was offered 600 books of the total 20,000 donated by the Metropolitan Library of Bucharest. The mayor of Bucharest also paid a working visit to “Mihai Eminescu” Lyceum of Chisinau in connection with the provision by the municipality of Bucharest of logistic and material support for renovating the education institution.
