Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Silvia Radu and Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Nicolae Ciubuc were sworn in at a ceremony held at the State Residence on September 25. The decrees to appoint the two candidates were signed earlier today by Speaker of Parliament Andrian Candu as the acting President, based on the September 24 judgment by which the Constitutional Court suspended President Igor Dodon from office, IPN reports.
Andrian Candu expressed his confidence that the two ministers will achieve results in their areas of responsibility because these are very important for the Republic of Moldova and particularly for the citizens who expect reforms.
Attending the ceremony, Prime Minister Pavel Filip said the governmental team is being strengthened. “I’m grateful that these two candidates who have a rich experience were named to the posts. The managerial experience of Missis Radu and Mister Ciubuc is very important and I’m confident that we will succeed,” he stated.
After the ceremony, Silvia Radu told the journalists that she will come with a new managerial strategy at the Ministry of Health. She is neither the first nor the last minister who takes up without having experience in the field. President Igor Dodon’s refusal to accept her was an attempt to flex his muscles so that the people do not say that he is a piece of décor and this is actually regrettable.
Nicolae Ciubuc said a lot of work is to be done in the areas for which he is responsible. A clear plan of action should be implemented in a short period of time. President Dodon’s refusal to accept him is regrettable as he has sufficient experience to do the reforms needed at the Ministry of Agriculture.
In similar conditions, by decrees signed by Andrian Candu as acting President, Eugeniu Sturza was invested as Minister of Defense (October 2017), Iurie Leancă as Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration; Cristina Lesnic as Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Kiril Gaburici as Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Alexandru Tănase as Minister of Justice, Tudor Ulianovski as Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Liviu Volconovici as Minister of Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment and Svetlana Cebotari as Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection (January 2018).
Silvia Radu and Nicolae Ciubuc replaced Svetlana Cebotari and Liviu Volconovici.
