Silver Chrysanthemum Song Festival reaches XV edition

The XV Silver Chrysanthemum Song Festival dedicated to romance music will be held on February 21-24 on the stage of the “Mihai Eminescu” National Theatre and will bring out the most beautiful songs of the kind. Leonid Gorceac, the Festival’s director, says that the event will bring together 14 composers of lyric songs, including one from Romania, and 14 performers, including from Bucharest and Targoviste. Gorceac also says that on February 21 in the evening the performance contest will be held. The singers will be backed instrumentally by the “Folcor” Orchestra of the National Philharmonic Hall, conducted by Petre Neamtu. The following day, the same stage will host romance composers, accompanied by the “Mugurel” Orchestra, conducted by Ion Dascal. The Star Gala and the Laureate Gala, to be held on February 23 and 24, will feature Romania’s and Moldova’s most well-known and fresh singers of romance, such as Maria Biesu, Olga Ciolacu, Mihai Munteanu, Margareta Ivanus, Traian Jurchelea, Florin Georgescu, Constantin Florescu, Stefania Loredana Chitulescu, Oana Serban, Larisa Corobcean, and Cristina Pentelei. The Silver Chrysanthemum Song Festival’s Jury will be composed of 11 members and will be chaired by Mihai Munteanu.
