Signing of airspace agreement postponed
The signing of the Agreement on the Creation of a Common Airspace with the EU was put off. Initially, the signing ceremony was to set for March 22, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government.
The reason for the delay is the suspension, from February, of all the decisions concerning the signing of agreements by the European Union and third countries, following a trail between the European Commission and the Council of the European Union, on the latter’s right to sign agreements with third countries. After the dispute is settled, the procedures for signing agreements by the EU with third countries will be unblocked.
As a result of requests made by the Government of Moldova to European institutions, it was decided that the signing of the agreement will be in the agenda of the first meeting of the Council of Ministers of the European Union that will take place immediately after the EU finishes the internal legal procedures.
