As many as 1,063 teachers are needed in the education institutions of the country for the 2015-2016 academic year, says the draft Government decision concerning the preparation of the education institutions for the 2015-2016 year, which was proposed for public discussions, IPN reports.
In 2015, the teacher-training universities had 2,490 graduates, while the colleges – 469. The problem of shortage of staff in education institutions can be thus solved. However, it was ascertained that the young specialists proposed by universities do not meet the needs of secondary schools. There were filled only 579 vacancies, 503 of which by specialists with higher education and 76 by college graduates.
Under the draft decision, measures will be taken in summer to help prepare the institutions for the cold period, to optimize the network of education institutions and to provide free transport to and from rural schools, to include the children with special educational needs and to create access ways to buildings and other conditions for these. The first-fourth graders and students from socially deprived families as well as the fifth-twelfth graders from Transnistrian schools and Bender municipality, which are managed by the Ministry of Education, will be fed free of charge.
A sum of 8 230 583 lei was allocated for education in 2015. The local education bodies and the district and municipal education divisions will carry out the planned measures with budget money allocated based on the standard cost per student.
The universities and colleges will use their own budget money.
