The Shor Party decided to suspend the protest started at the Chisinau City Appeals Court after the health authorities in the morning of March 10 banned the holding of mass events in a move to prevent infection with COVID-19, IPN reports.
In a press release, the party said the protest at the Chisinau City Appeals Court was initiated in connection with the examination by the Central Election Commission of the complaint about the elimination of the Shor Party’s candidate Vitalie Balinschi from the new parliamentary elections that are to take place in Hâncești constituency. The protest involved over 10,000 people.
The decision to suspend the protest was announced by Vitalie Balinschi. He said he will struggle till the end and will not allow Igor Dodon and the Socialists to strip the people of the chance to have a better life. According to him, owing to the epidemiological situation, the party cannot subject tens of thousands of people to risks.
