MP Violeta Ivanov was nominated for office of President of the Republic of Moldova by the Shor Party. The announcement was made by the party’s leader Ilan Shor through a video after the National Political Council of the Shor Party, IPN reports.
Ilan Shor said that today the situation in the country is very difficult owing to the political struggles. As a result of these, people’s lives do not improve. Since its creation, the Shor Party has showed that it can do concrete things for the people. “Today, we, the Shor Party, are sure of the people’s support. We are certain that the people want the Shor Party to come to power and to change their lives to the better,” stated the politician.
He noted that their candidate is a professional who is part of the team and their team will support her program and initiatives aimed at improving people’s lives.
In her speech, Violeta Ivanov said that today it is the most important day of her political career. She accepted to run in order to give the presidential institution the role stipulated by the Constitution. “We should not allow this to become a bargaining chip in political games or, even more serious, to become the nucleus of a dictatorial regime,” stated the MP.
Violeta Ivanov noted she does not make unachievable promises. The team of which she forms part delivered the made promises and showed in the localities through it mayors that Moldova has a future.
During April 2009 – December 2015, Violeta Ivanov served as an MP on behalf of the Party of Communists. Since December 2015 until March 2017, she sat as an unaffiliated MP, while later, until May 2020, she served as an MP of the Democratic Party. Afterward, she joined the Shor Party.
