The shift to the opposition will lead to the disappearance of the PLDM, said invitees to the talk show “Reply” produced by Prime TV channel, IPN reports.

The head of the National Liberal Party Vitalia Pavlichenco said that promoting the union with Romania is now the only chance of the PLDM. “A year ago, three parties that say they are pro-European staged a large-scale protest in the center of Chisinau. Now we see that one party of the three no longer wants to take part in an alliance that claims to be pro-European. Being pro-European means being pro-Romanian. There is now no government in Bucharest and in Chisinau. Maybe a common Government should be formed, while the PLDM could contribute to this. But the PLDM was a party that supported a clan,” stated Pavlichenco.

Expert Vitali Catana considers the PLDM wants early elections. “Those from the PLDM want political chaos that would lead to early elections. They hope that this way they can rehabilitate those who stole the billion,” he stated.

Victor Juc, vice director of the Institute of Legal and Political Research of the Academy of Sciences of Moldova, said the PLDM contributes to the deepening of the political crisis. “The PLDM does not take part in the negotiations because it does not trust the coalition partners that ‘beheaded’ the party. In our country, the parties depend on the leader. Now the Republic of Moldova faces a political stalemate, but the PLDM does nothing but amplify this impasse,” he said.

Journalist Valeriu Renita noted that the PLDM now faces two big problems. “The first is related to the financing of the party and to the transparency of this funding. The second problem represents the quality of the members of this party. A large number of people could leave the PLDM. The Lib-Dems’ shift to the opposition means stopping up the embrasure with its chest,” he stated.
