The incumbent leader of Transnistria Yevgheny Shevchuk said he will run in the so-called presidential elections that will take place in the Transnistrian region this December. The politician made the announcement in a news conference on August 30, IPN reports.
According to the Transnistrian press, Yevgheny Shevchuk addressed his supporters, saying that he weighed up the pros and cons and decided to run in the elections. He called on the people of Transnistria to support him, noting that he feels obliged to offer the voters an alternative in the elections.
