Shevchuk intends to introduce Russian ruble in Transnistria

The Transnistrian leader Yevgeny Shevchuk is considering the possibility of putting the Russian ruble into free circulation in the region, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the official website of the Tiraspol administration. “I think that the Russian ruble in the near future will be used in parallel with the Transnistrian ruble. There are similar examples in the world,” Yevgeny Shevchuk said in an interview. He stated he will plead for economic decisions beneficial to everyone. “We would like to have more Russian investors with clear plans and considerable resources. We need to create as many workplaces as possible,” said the Transnistrian leader, adding that a common currency with Russia will enable to save money, based on the exchange rate.
