Shevchuk and Formuzal consider intensifying relations

The leader of the Transnistrian region Yevgeny Shevchuk and the governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal had a meeting in Tiraspol on June 6. The two discussed possibilities of strengthening the relations between the regions. According to the official website of the Transnistrian leader, the Gagauz delegation went to Transnistria to take part in the third investment forum, IPN reports.

Yevgeny Shevchuk and Mihail Formuzal also discussed the economic situation. The governor said that the Transnistrian region has potential in different areas of interest for bilateral cooperation.

Mihail Formuzal stated that the two regions cooperate in preparing personnel. About 120 Gagauz students study at the Tiraspol University “T. Shevchenko”. In Transnistria, the young people can learn professions that are not taught in Chisinau in Russian.

The Transnistrian leader informed the governor of Gagauzia that they plan to improve the equipment of universities. Furthermore, they will build a new block for the faculty of medicine and will employ teachers from abroad, including Russia, so as to improve the quality of studies.
