Sheriff Tiraspol will play at home the return game against Dinamo Zagreb, of the Champions League third qualifying round, in the evening of August 7. The ‘yellow-blacks’ will try to obtain qualification for the playoffs even if they were beaten 1-0 away.
“This is the most important game for us. We are ready to obtain the result we need. We will fight. The negative emotions are behind,” said acting coach of Sheriff Veaceslav Rusnac.
In order to qualify, Sheriff must obligatorily score. Moldova’s champion didn’t score in the Croatians’ goal since August 4, 2010.
“We must take the lead from the very start and take the ball under our control,” said Brazilian halfback Cadu, who is considered by the Croatians’ coach as the most dangerous player of Sheriff.
“He has the abilities needed to create dangers to our goal. Owing to his performance, the team’s play is more technical. Our goal is to score the first,” said Dinamo coach Krunoslav Jurcic.
If it does not defeat Dinamo Zagreb, Sheriff will continue competing in Europa League. The draw for the playoffs of the Champions League and Europa League will take place on August 8.
