Sheriff signs another Bosnian footballer

The captain of Sarajevo Amer Dupovac signed a two-year contract with Sheriff. The central fullback aged 24 is the second Bosnian footballer signed by the team from Tiraspol this winter, IPN reports.

Dupovac played for Sarajevo throughout his career. With this team, he won the Cup last year and became vice champion of Bosnia and Herzegovina two times. For Sarajevo, he played 17 matches in the qualifying rounds of Europa League.

“It was hard for me to leave Sarajevo, but time has come to take a step forward. I think I will make progress with Sheriff,” Dupovac stated for the official website of the team from Tiraspol.

Besides Amer Dupovac, Sheriff this winter also signed two former players of CFR Cluj – Bosnian fullback Mateo Susic and Spanish halfback Aitor Monroy.

Sheriff is in a training session in Turkey, where it so far scored two victories, a draw and a defeat. The team trained by Zoran Zecic ranks third in the National Division, being six points behind the leading team Dacia.
