Sheriff beat the vice champion of Ukraine Shakhtar Donetsk 2-0 in the first match of the UEFA Champions League group stage for the team from Tiraspol, IPN reports.

Adama Traore opened the score in the 16th minute with a superb execution, while new entrant Momo Yansane took the score to 2-0 in the 62nd minute with a head kick. “We chose the correct tactic. We didn’t allow the Ukrainians to score. We hampered them in counterattack,” said the coach of Sheriff Yuri Vernydub.

Yuri Vernydub used the following players: Athanasiadis, Cristiano, Arboleda, Dulanto, Constanza, Thill, Kolovos (Yansane 55), Yaxshiboyev (Bruno 67), Addo (Radeljic 85), Traore, Castaneda (Nikolov 85).
