Sheriff has qualified for Moldova’s Cup final for the ninth time after beating Milsami 2-0 in the evening of May 7, IPN reports.
Stanojevic and Juninho were the authors of the goals scored in Orhei. Milsami failed to qualify for the final and thus has no chance to play in the European cups the next season.
“Some of the players of our team got the jitters because the match was a very important one. And Sheriff showed its class,” Milsami coach Iurie Osipenco said after the game.
“We are preparing for the matches of the Champions League. It will be an interesting final at the Zimbru stadium, with many spectators,” said Sheriff coach Veaceslav Rusnac.
The four teams that will represent Moldova in the European cups are known. Sheriff will play in the qualifying rounds of the Champions League, while FC Tiraspol, Veris and Zimbru will play in Europa League.
