Sheriff Tiraspol this evening plays the third match of the Europa League groups. After two draws, Moldova’s champion is to face one of the leaders of the Premier League - Tottenham Hotspurs, IPN reports.

“Surely we have a certain fear of Tottenham, but this can help us,” Sheriff captain Miral Samardzic told a news conference.

Sheriff coach Veaceslav Rusnac said that every team has shortcomings, but Tottenham comes from the most powerful championship of the world. “We must do our utmost so as to obtain a positive result,” he stated.

Tottenham is the leader of the group with six points, while Sheriff ranks second with two points. The last two positions are taken by Anji and Tromso with one point each.

Tottenham is the first English team that won a European trophy: the European Cups’ Cup in 1963. It also won the UEFA Cup in 1972 and 1984.

The London team played against Zimbru in 1999 and scored a 0-0 draw, but qualified for the next stage of the UEFA Cup after winning a 3-0 victory in the return match.

The encounter between Sheriff and Tottenham takes place in Tiraspol, starting at 8pm. It is refereed by Liran Liany from Israel.
