Sheriff off to a good start in the new year

Moldovan champions kicked off the new year with a victory against Dniestr Ovidiopoli, on January 19. Sheriff recorded a narrow 1-0 win, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Moldovan player Serghei Gheorghiev scored the only goal of the match. Sheriff fielded their latest purchases on the transfer market: 20 year old Macedonian defender Jasmin Mecinovic and 23 year old Brazilian midfielder Caihame Esis Steines Jorge. They have been brought in to replace departed Russian midfielder Alexandr Erokhin and Bosnian Ognen Vranjes. The duo signed for FC Krasnodar this winter.
Sheriff’s next friendly fixture is on Sunday, January 23, against Dinamo Bender. The next day, Moldova’s biggest club will leave for a training camp in Turkey. Among the scheduled friendly matches, Sheriff have a game against Romanian outfit Steaua Bucharest.
