Real Madrid took revenge on Sheriff for the defeat suffered in Madrid, winning a 3-0 victory in Tiraspol. The goals were scored by David Alaba, Toni Kroos and Karim Benzema, IPN reports.

In the other match of the group, Inter defeated Shakhtar 2-0 and qualified, alongside Real, for the 1/8 finals of the UEFA Europa League. One stage before the end of the group phase, Sheriff secured the third place in the group and, respectively, qualification for the 1/16 finals of the UEFA Europa League, being the first Moldovan team that qualified for the European spring. The team from Tiraspol has six points, while Shakhtar scored only one point so far.

“The suffered defeat is ultimately not a shame. Anyway, we secured our presence in the Europa League. This is a great accomplishment for the Sheriff club,” said the coach of Sheriff Yuri Vernydub.

On December 7, Sheriff plays Shakhtar away, while Real meets Inter at home.
