Sheriff Tiraspol has qualified for the final of Moldova’s Football Cup. It drew away 0-0 the second leg of the semifinals with Milsami Orhei, but qualified owing to the 2-0 victory scored in the first leg, IPN reports.
“I’m glad we managed to qualify for the final, but this is the merit of former coach Goran Sablic under whose guidance the first leg was won,” Sheriff coach Zoran Zekic told a news conference.
“Sheriff wasn’t better than us today. We tried to return the score, but failed,” stated Milsami coach Veaceslav Rusnac.
In the final, Sheriff plays the winner of the encounters between Sfântul Gheorghe and Zimbru Chisinau. Zimbru lost the first leg 0-1 at home. The second leg is played in Suruceni today, May 8.
