Moldova’s multiple football champion Sheriff Tiraspol keeps the lead in the National Division rankings and distanced itself significantly from the second-ranked FC Tiraspol. After the ninth stage of the Moldovan Football Championship, Sheriff scored 22 points. FC Tiraspol has 18 points, while the third-ranked FC Costuleni has 16 points, IPN reports.
The matches of the ninth stage were played on September 24 and 25. On September 24, Zimbru Chisinau beat Veris 1-0, while FC Tiraspol drew 1-1 with Rapid. The next day, FC Costuleni won against Academia 2-0, Milsami lost to Dacia 4-1, Dinamo-Auto defeated Olimpia 2-1, while Sheriff beat Speranta 0-5.
Dacia comes fourth in the National Division rankings with 16 points. The fifth place is taken by Veris also with 16 points. Milsami ranks sixth, while Rapid ranks seventh both with 14 points. Zimbru Chisinau comes eighth with 13 points. Dinamo-Auto and Speranta have by eight points and rank ninth and tenth. Olimpia has five points and comes eleventh, while Academia comes last with no point.
