Sheriff has won Moldova’s Football Cup. In the final, the team from Tiraspol trounced Zaria Balti 5-0, IPN reports.
Sheriff decided the fate of the match at the start of the second half, when it scored four goals in only 11 minutes. Vitalie Damascan and Cyrille Bayala scored by two goals. The final score was set by Brazil’s Jo Santos in the last but one minute of the game.
“After the first goal, the team became more relaxed. I’m satisfied with their performance,” Sheriff coach Roberto Bordin said in a news conference.
“The play in the second half was a shame. Sheriff played out of pleasure,” said the coach of Zaria Vlad Goian.
Sheriff came into possession of Moldova’s Cup for the ninth time. On May 30, Sheriff and Dacia play the “golden match” that will decide the champion.
