Sheriff is one step closer to the final of Moldova’s Football Cup. The team from Tiraspol beat at home Milsami 2-0 owing to the goals scored by Robert Tambe in the 79th and 84th minutes. The second leg is played in Orhei on May 7 or 8, IPN reports.

“I think 2-0 is too much. It would have been nice to enjoy more chances before the second leg,” Milsami coach Veaceslav Rusnac told a news conference.

“Milsami has a good defense, but in the second half we changed the tactic. The new entrants improved the game,” stated the coach of Sheriff Goran Sablic.

In the other semifinal, Zimbru meets Sfîntul Gheorghe. The first leg is played in Chisinau in the evening of April 17.
