The thirteen Moldovan championship is within Sheriff's grasp after a 2-0 victory over Milsami on Friday. The title will be secured this very weekend if FC Tiraspol lose to FC Costuleni on Saturday, IPN reports.
The “Hornets'” goals against Milsami were scored by Potiguar (25') and Cadu (57'). “I think it was an enjoyable match to watch. Our competitors played defensively, allowing us to be creative, which pleases me”, Sheriff manager Veaceslav Rusnac told a briefing after the game.
“Besides having several key players unavailable for the game, we played against a European-grade club”, said Milsami coach Georgi Yartsev.
Sheriff and Milsami will meet again in the Moldova Cup semifinals on May 7, in Orhei.
Elsewhere in Round 29, Speranta surprisingly defeated Dinamo-Auto 1-0. The sole goal was scored by Semcov, in the 30th minute. On Saturday, Dacia will play Veris at Speia.
