Sfîntul Gheorghe Suruceni and Sheriff Tiraspol will duel in the final of Moldova’s Football Cup for the second consecutive year. The match will take place at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on May 21, IPN reports.
For Sfîntul Gheorghe, this will be the fourth Cup final in its history. In 2019, the “saints” lost to Sheriff 0-1. A year later, Sfîntul Gheorghe was beaten by Petrocub by the penalty shootout, while the previous season the team from Suruceni won the trophy after scoring a 3-2 victory as a result of the penalty shootout with Sheriff.
For Sheriff, this will be the 14th final in its history. The team from Tiraspol has won Moldova’s Football Cup for ten times.
