Sfantul Gheorghe Suruceni beat Spicul Chiscareni 3-0 in the derby match of the 28th stage of Division A. Alexandru Maxim scored two goals, in the 11th and 64th minute, while Mihail Ghecev set the final scoreline in the 78th minute, IPN reports.

This success brought Sfantul Gheorghe three points close to Spicul, which played by one more match.

“It is a lesson for us, but I’m convinced that my team is better,” Spicul coach Denis Kalinkov told a news conference.

“It was a high-level match. Both of the teams aim at the promotion to the National Division,” said the coach of Sfantul Gheorghe Constantin Arbanas.

Two more stages are to be played in Division A.
