Sheriff Tiraspol and Sfântul Gheorghe Suruceni will meet in the final of Moldova’s Football Cup on May 22. If Sfântul Gheorghe wins the Cup, it will compete for the first time in the qualifying rounds of the UEFA Europa League, IPN reports.

The team trained by Sergey Cebotari beat Zimbru in the second leg played in Suruceni as well, 3-1. The goals were scored by Kirakosyan (30th min), Boiciuc (56th), Novikov (85th) and, respectively, (Cojocari 52nd-penalty). In the first leg of the semifinals, Sfântul Gheorghe won a 1-0 victory.

“It is a great accomplishment for our team. Most of our footballers will play in the final for the first time in their career,” Sfântul Gheorghe coach Sergey Cebotari told a news conference.

The encounter between Sheriff Tiraspol and Sfântul Gheorghe Suruceni will take place at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau on May 22, 2019, starting at 8.30pm.
