Seventh Ethno-Jazz Festival will be held in Chisinau, Balti and Tiraspol during September 11-14

The seventh edition of the International Ethno-Jazz Festival will take place in Chisinau, Balti and Tiraspol between September 11 and 14. Fifteen bands from Moldova, Serbia, the Netherlands, the United States, Germany, Iran, France, Austria, Cuba, Venezuela, Spain, Switzerland, and Tunis will take part in this year’s edition of the festival, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the organizers. Famous groups of instrumentalists such as the quartet “Pulcinella” (France), trio “Ronin” (Switzerland), “OrientXpress Trio” (Germany), duo “Amine & Hamza M`Raihi” (Tunisia), “Eldis la Rosa Trio” (Cuba, the UK, Venezuela), “Saskia Laroo Band” (the Netherlands, the U.S.), “Trio Balkan Strings” (Serbia), “Ulrich Drechsler Trio” (Austria) and others will perform alongside the organizers, the Moldovan group “Trigon”. Among the participants will also be the Moldovan groups “Geta Burlacu Qiuntet”, “Univox” and “Dorel Burlacu & www.funky.md”. In Chisinau, the concerts will be given at the National Theater “Mihai Eminescu” (September 11-14, starting at 18.00) and at the Organ Hall (September 12 and 13, starting at 20.00). In Tiraspol, three performances will be held in the hall of the Music College (September 11-13). In Balti, one concert will be given at the Center of Culture and Youth on September 12. The festival will also include a charity program in support of the persons in need. Owing to the sponsors and spectators, in 2005 the festival donated equipment to the Newborns Section of the Chisinau Clinical Hospital No.2, in 2006 - a set of drums, a piano and accordion to the boarding schools in Chisinau and Socii Noi, and in 2007 – financial support to the Association of Stage Veterans and the Club of Veteran Musicians “Maestro”. The festival is organized by “Trigon” band and the Center of Information Technologies “Workshop of the Future”, with support from the Culture Division of the Chisinau municipality, the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Embassy of Germany, the French Alliance, the Austrian Cultural Forum, the Swiss Arts Council “Prohelvetia”, the Institute of Culture and Language “Ramon Lull”, the Polish Institute in Bucharest, the OSCE Mission, and the United Nations Development Project (UNDP).
