Seven men taken in police custody after last Sunday’s antigovernment rally have been put in preventive detention for 30 days, as ruled by the Chișinău/Ciocana Court.
The men, all of them Moldovan nationals, ages 21 to 39, are said by the police to be part of an organized criminal group. All come from the north part of Moldova, including Bălți city, and three of them had troubles with the law in the past.
The seven men were detained as they were allegedly attempting to foment mass disorders during Sunday’s rally.
