Seven persons apply for the presidency
Two unemployed persons, a farmer, a lawyer, a doctor, a mechanic-engineer and a teacher of informatics want to become President of Moldova and submitted the necessary documents to the special commission for the election of the head of state. They have not been yet registered.
Contacted by Info-Prim Neo, the commission’s head Tudor Deliu said five of the seven applicants are from Chisinau, one is from Drochia, while another one is from Coshnitsa, Dubasari. “We have registered no candidate yet. We can come together for a meeting to see whether to register them or not only when they present all the necessary documents. None of the applicants has filed all the required documents, including the confirmation that they are supported by at least 15 MPs. I think none of them will have such support,” said Tudor Deliu.
If none of the candidates submits the set of necessary documents by November 14, 00.00, the commission’s head will render a report in Parliament and propose setting a new date for the presidential elections.
The presidential elections are to take place on November 18.
