Seven pedestrians struck by cars during one day
Seven pedestrians, two of whom minors, were hurt in road accidents in Moldova on March 17, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Traffic Police Department's press service.
A man aged 45 was struck by a car at the intersection of the streets Pushkin and Stefan cel Mare in Balti. He was inebriated, but was crossing the street legally. The driver did not stop to help the victim who suffered fractures and facial injuries.
An Opel-Astra hit an 83-year-old woman in Cantemir town. The woman got her right leg fractured.
A girl of 11 was struck by a Toyota-Avensis on Traian Blvd. in Chisinau. She suffered minor injuries.
A Lexus hit an eight-year-old boy on Miron Costin St in Chisinau. The boy was rushed to “Valentin Ignatenko” Hospital with a cranial-cerebral trauma, contusion and facial injuries.
A woman aged 69 suffered different traumas after she was struck by a Dacia-Logan on Chisinau's Matei Basarab St.
The same day, the traffic police identified 594 drivers who broke the traffic rules. There were reported 24 more traffic accidents without victims.
The 348 road accidents that happened in Moldova this year resulted in 44 deaths and 478 persons injured.
