A number of 43 persons diagnosed with COVID-19 are receiving treatment at the Infectious Diseases Hospital “Toma Ciorbă” in Chisinau. Seven of these are in a serious state, Minister of Health Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu was quoted by IPN as saying in a press briefing in the morning of March 20.

The state of health of the two children staying at the Municipal Children’s Contagious Diseases Hospital is medium grave. The two persons admitted to the National Clinical Hospital “Timofei Moșneaga” are in a satisfactory condition. The virus has claimed one life in Moldova so far. One infected person was cured.

A number of 49 cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in Moldova to date. Of these, 28 are cases of import as the persons returned from Italy, the UK, France, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Ukraine. As many as 21 cases are cases of local transmission recorded in Chisinau, Soroca, and Hâncești.
