Of the 46 projects presented in 2017 for obtaining financing as part of the municipal program Civil Budget, seven were completed, 27 are being implemented, while 12 haven’t been yet launched.

In the ordinary meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, acting mayor Ruslan Codreanu said he is disappointed with the way in which the 2017 and 2018 Civil Budgets were implemented , IPN reports.

Ruslan Codreanu requested the Public Relations Division to work out changes to the Civil Budget regulations so as to optimize the program.

Civil budgeting is a mechanism instituted by the Chisinau City Hall for providing financing for initiatives proposed by residents. The projects are chosen as a result of online voting or by the City Hall.

A sum of 3 million lei was allocated from the Chisinau municipal budget in 2018 for civil budgeting. In accordance with the regulations, the people could vote during July 16 – August 2.
