Moldova’s judo squad on April 24 left for Tel Aviv to compete in the European Judo Championships that will take place there during April 26-28, IPN reports.
The squad consists of Denis Vieru, Vadim Bunescu (both 66 kg class), Ion Nacu, Iulian Piatkovski (both 73 kg), Nicon Zaboroshchuk, Dorin Gotonoaga (both 81 kg) and the only female athlete Ana Budescu (48 kg).
The European Judo Championships in Tel-Aviv will bring together about 400 athletes from 44 countries. This will be the last large-scale tournament before the qualifying competition of the 2020 Olympic Games.
