Seven company managers receive European grants of €10,000-€15,000
Seven managers of companies from Orhei, Rezina, Soldanesti and Telenesti districts received European grants of €10,000 to €15,000 within the project “Remittances Developing Moldovan Communities,” Info-Prim Neo reports.
The project is implemented by the Representative Office in Moldova of the public association Hilfswerk Austria. The financed businesses include rabbit breeding, grinding, electric cable testing services, tire repairing, beekeeping, cultivation of berries, processing of forged metal. The grants will enable the entrepreneurs to purchase equipment, small tools and other things needed to develop their businesses.
Grant recipient Stefan Sandic from Sipca, Soldanesti wants to buy a mobile laboratory for extracting bee honey. He decided to continue an occupation that he inherited from his grandfather. He cooperated with a number of farms that produce honey and intends to export the product to the EU market.
Petru Gaina, 19, is the youngest recipient of grant. Being a student in the upper grades, he worked as an auxiliary worker in Moscow during his vacation and gathered a sum of money that he invested in cultivating black currant and barberry. He identified partners in Romania and bought cuttings from them. He will use the grant to purchase an anti-hail net that can protect the berries also from torrential rain.
Hilfswerk Austria in Moldova also launched an Entrepreneurs’ Guide that will be useful mainly to young people from rural areas who want to start a business. The guide is available on www.migranti.md. Elena Catushev, one of the two authors of the book, said the guide explains the business registration procedures in an accessible language and contains answers to the questions asked most frequently by a person who wants to start a business.
The project “Remittances Developing Moldovan Communities” is implemented by the Representative Office of Hilfswerk Austria during 2011-2013. The cost of the project is €627,000.
