Settlements of Chisinau municipality and Iasi County twinned

Ten settlements of the municipality of Chisinau and ten settlements of Romania’s Iasi County have been twinned. The twinning agreements were signed in Chisinau. They aim to promote the relations between the two countries to a new level of a higher quality, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Government. The Government’s secretary general Victor Bodiu said the twinning of the settlements represents a method of direct diplomacy, which will facilitate Moldova’s integration into the great European family. “Many towns in Europe are now twinned. The relations between Romania and Moldova will only benefit from these twinning agreements. Its time to build stone bridges, besides flower bridges,” said Victor Bodiu. The head of Iasi County Council Constantin Simirad said the signing of these agreements is envisioned in the cooperation project between Romania and Moldova. He stated that under these twinning agreements, an Alley of Romanian Rulers and a park will be built up at the Cricova Wine Complex. The alley and the park will be inaugurated in June. Sergiu Palihovich, head of the Chisinau local office of the State Chancellery, said that two joint projects will be launched in the near future, while another four projects will be implemented by the deconcentrated services of the municipalities of Chisinau and Iasi.
