Serviceman who beat colleague gets three years in jail
The corporal who punched a soldier who remained without his spleen as a result of the received injuries was sentenced to three years and six months in a semi-closed type penitentiary, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the corporal of Peacekeeping Battalion No. 22 was accused of violating the statutory rules concerning the relations between servicemen after he beat a soldier on the territory of the unit based on Pietrarilor St in the evening of September 20.
The soldier was punched because he did not fulfill the order to go out for the evening lineup. He was admitted to the Military Hospital with acute pains and had his spleen removed.
The sentence can be appealed to a higher court.
