According to a communiqué from the Prosecutor General’s Office, the military prosecutors launched an inquiry when a soldier was taken to the hospital with an abdomen injury. The soldier and his colleagues said he fell off a tree when he was at the shooting range “Bulboaca”.
It was established that a serviceman in the rank of senior warrant officer woke up a platoon of about 30 soldiers at the shooting range “Bulboaca” and forced them to perform exercises for 20 minutes outside the program hours. The soldiers were thus deprived of 3-4 hours of sleep. When they were taking exercises, the officer punched and kicked them.
The military prosecutors identified another five soldiers with bodily injuries at “Bulboaca”. One of them had his nose broken.
Besides opening a criminal case, the prosecutors filed an application to the Ministry of Defense, asking that the persons to blame be punished disciplinarily.
