A serviceman from Straseni was sentenced two years and six months in jail for swindle, theft and desertion. He was also banned from holding posts in state institutions for a period of two years and was deprived of the rank of lieutenant, IPN reports, quoting a communiqué of the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Last year, the lieutenant stole money and belongings of over 18,000 lei from a woman colleague. Afterward, he swindled her out of money and goods valued at over 40,000 lei.

Then the 25-year-old lieutenant didn’t go to work for a month. He was arrested in Chisinau this February.
