By January 1, 2014, all the units of transport of Chisinau municipality and the tip-up trucks of the subdivisions will have to be outfitted with GPS monitoring systems. Such a request was made by Mayor General Dorin Chirtoaca in Monday’s meeting of Chisinau City Hall officials, IPN reports.
Dorin Chirtoaca said that those who will not install GPS systems on the service car by January 1 will be reprimanded. Acting head of the Public Transport and Communications Division Igor Gamretski was entrusted with the implementation of the common system for all the units of transport. The mayor asked that the public transport in Chisinau be also connected to the GPS.
The mayor submitted the proposal to install GPS systems after he saw the service car of the head of Buiucani district in a recreational area outside Chisinau. The district head had to provide explanations and will be penalized.
Currently, only the vehicles of SA “Apa-Canal Chisinau” are equipped with GPS monitoring systems.
