Serious traffic accidents in 2014
Every day people get killed or injured on Moldova's roads. According to the National Patrolling Inspectorate, the country's traffic police agency, in the 11 months of this year, 2,357 road accidents took the lives of 283 people and wounded 2,750 others. Below is a summary of the most serious ones.

Mar.26: A 4-year-old boy and his parents died in a traffic accident in Edinet district. The father was driving the car at high speeds when he lost control of the vehicle and struck an electric post on the opposite side of the road. All three died immediately.

Mar.30: A Moldovan minibus was involved in a traffic accident in the Ukrainian region of Donetsk. Five of the passengers inside were killed, and 16 other were injured.

Apr.14: Five people traveling in two minibuses on Chisinau's routes 119 and 113 were injured in a collision in Botanica sector.

Apr.23: A Moldovan citizen died and 9 other were hurt in another accident in Ukraine.

July 2: Thirteen people, including three children, were injured in a traffic accident involving a minibus on Chisinau's route 155. One children was hospitalized in critical condition.

Aug.12: Three teenagers, ages 19, 17 and 16, were killed after their car struck a concrete structure and overturned several times near the village of Baurci, Ceadir-Lunga district.

Oct.13: Four young people died, and two other were injured near Baurci, Ciadir-Lunga, after their car hit a tree.

Oct.15: Two people died and four others were hurt after a passenger minibus on route 171 collided with a truck in Chisinau.

Nov. 2: Three people were killed after their car ran off the road and struck an electric post and then, after overturning, also hit the annex of a house in Drochia town. The driver, who was under the influence, escaped with minor injuries.
