Moldova’s Parliament adopts laws not to make the opposition’s life comfortable. The undertaken reforms are often courageous, possibly painful for a particular circle, but very necessary for society in general, deputy chairman of the Democratic Party, MP Sergiu Sirbu stated, referring to the package of laws on the fiscal reform that was broadly discussed and criticized in society and abroad, IPN reports.
The MP said the package of laws on the fiscal reform is neither the first nor the last that is criticized. The bills were drafted long ago and didn’t appear out of the blue. The fiscal reform was facilitated by the economic growth of the last two years. “These are measures intended for the people, for the economy and they evidently cannot please our opponents,” Sergiu Sirbu stated in the talk show “Truth live”.
The MP noted that the law that enables to legalize undeclared property for a tax of 3%, which generated most of the criticism, was signed by an international exert in money laundering. An international institutional appraisal will be carried out in September. “We hope we will prove that the fears are groundless,” he said.
Sergiu Sirbu added that the package of laws does not run counter to the international commitments assumed by the Republic of Moldova. As to the reaction of the country’s foreign partners, the MP said this was stated without studying the package of tax initiatives.
