Sergiu Ostaf: Leanca’s party has chances to enter future Parliament

The party that is being built by the former Premier Iurie Leanca has real chances to enter the future Parliament with at least 15-20% of the poll at a time when he does not yet have a strategy for working with the voters and key objectives at local level, the executive director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CReDO) Sergiu Ostaf said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, IPN reports.

According to the CReDO director, there are many elements that make the ex-Premier different from the other politicians. “First of all, Iurie Leanca detached himself from the other politicians. The second element that defines Iurie Leanca from other players from the political arena is his image of man with integrity despite the doubts about his involvement in the case of the BEM and the concession of the Airport. The third element is his message to the people and the last element, which is very important, is the European partners’ confidence enjoyed by Leanca,” he stated.

Sergiu Ostaf noted that Leanca also has some weak points. “Such aspects as the management of a political party and the achievement of certain goals represent his weak points. I think Iurie Leanca can learn from Vlad Filat and Vladimir Plahotniuc in this respect. If Iurie Leanca manages to learn these things, his party can win up to 40% of the vote in the next parliamentary elections,” he said.

Sergiu Ostaf also said that there are no reasons for the politicians of the ruling parties to be troubled by the new project of Leanca. “It’s known that about 200,000 people are determined not to vote for any of the existing parties. These voters are lost for the current political class. They should better be attracted by a pro-European democratic party than by an extreme left one,” stated the CReDO director.
