Sergiu Ostaf: Dorin Dragutanu showed maximum irresponsibility

The governor of the National Bank of Moldova Dorin Dragutanu showed maximum irresponsibility when he resigned on the eve of the arrival of the IMF mission in Chisinau, director of the Resource Center for Human Rights (CreDO) Sergiu Ostaf said in the talk show “Pahomi” on Realitatea TV channel, quoted by IPN.

“Even if he was pressurized and even if he was blackmailed, Dragutanu should have first taken part in the negotiations with the IMF so that the memorandum was signed and should have resigned afterward. One month or two-three months can solve nothing. He should have put the country’s interests above the personal interests,” said the CReDO director.

In the same connection, Ostaf said the accusations that the government didn’t want an agreement with the IMF are false and are aimed at misleading public opinion. “Any government that needs it establishes relations with the IMF. The fact that strategy-related mistakes were made in establishing these relations is another issue,” he stated.

Speaking about the protests staged in the center of Chisinau, Sergiu Ostaf noted that their goal was foiled. “It is lack of responsibility on the part of the organizers towards these people who protest. The goal of the protests does not have essence. Only the feeling of hatred persists among the protesters and this is the irresponsibility of those who lead these protests, but these should be honest and sincere with those who protest,” he said.
