Sergiu Mocanu to present proofs to European Commissioners

Former presidential adviser Sergiu Mocanu said he will furnish European Commissioners with proofs of the mafia schemes employed by businessman Vlad Plahotniuc in Moldova. “We will not present these proofs to the Prosecutor General's Office and will not seek justice in the national courts. The evidence will be submitted to the European Commissioners who agree to giving loans and grants to Moldova,” Sergiu Mocanu said in a news conference on September 1, quoted by Info-Prim Neo. The ex-presidential adviser said all those who support him in the anti-mafia fight are summoned to go to the Prosecutor's Office. Criminal cases are opened against them. Mocanu said he started this fight in order to free the leaders of the Alliance for European Integration from Vlad Plahotniuc. He urged the members of the Alliance to join him in his efforts and stop the illegalities. According to Sergiu Mocanu, the leaders of the government coalition, by their acts, show favoritism and complicity in 'this mafia', with Deputy Prime Minister Valeriu Lazar being an agent under cover of the Security and Information Service, who holds the rank of lieutenant colonel.
