The Liberal-Democrats and the Democrats didn’t keep the promises they made to the supporters of the pro-European course and to the partners of the EU as they brought the Communists back to power, the leader of the People’s Movement “Antimafie” Sergiu Mocanu said in the talk show “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
According to Mocanu, the most serious thing that happened today (January 23 – e.n.) is that the key to the European integration was thrown into a moor and it’s not known who will be able to get it out. It is a bullet in the back of the European partners, who supported Moldova so much. I suspect it won’t be a minority government, but a majority one, formed by the PLDM, PDM and PCRM in secret.
As a result, the European partners would stop allocating money, while the international lending organizations could review their policies towards our country. “The International Monetary Fund and the World Bank would decrease the country rating and we will thus have more expensive loans at higher interest rates. The given financial institutions are those who promote the image of a country for potential foreign investors. The volume of foreign investments decreased considerably over the last few years and I think we will not have foreign investments soon in the created situation,” said the politician.
Sergiu Mocanu considers that the PLDM and PDM deliberately pushed the PL to the opposition, ignoring the advice of the European partners, so as to gradually terminate the partnership with the EU. “In fact, they stole large amounts from the European funds and now want to avoid responsibility. What happened today in Parliament means the ending of the Association Agreement with the European Union,” he stated.
